Marshall Sword review by Tobias D.

William Marshall’s sword is a close replica of the original weapon that dates back to the c. 1300 AD or even as early as c. 1100 AD. It was used by some of Britain’s finest knights like Sir John William Marshall (who was faithful to the crown held by Henry II), Jack Lackland and Richard the Lionheart.

It is a beautiful piece of weaponry artwork and has an 848 mm/ 33.39 inches blade. It has a width of 47.1 mm and a thickness of 5.5 mm/ 0.215 inches at the base and 4 mm/ 0.157 inches at the point. The blade of the sword is tempered to form a tough HRC 52. It also features a full-length distal taper and a fuller central ridge. It is a super combination of both strength and speed.
The leather wrapped and laced grip, the pommel and the guard make the sword all the more elegant looking from the point of their functional simplicity. The scabbard too comes full leather-covered and with steel mounts.

The weapon has a nicely braided leather grip that makes it comfortable to handle. The hilt assembly on the other hand, is recessed with a split nut that requires a special kind of tool in order to tighten the grip.
The blade of the sword comes with a slight bend that measure to 4mm/0.16″ when laid against the flat table. The scabbard of the sword is made of wood and is covered in black leather and shiny metal mounts. The length of the scabbard is for some reason longer than the sword blade.
There are certain cons as well that one needs to be aware of. These are minor problems though. The blade of the sword consists of a bit of the plain side. The edge of the sword blade needs to be sharpened properly so that it could be used for the purpose of cutting.

The sword is also made in a damascus version.

Afterall this sword can be an amazing piece of your medieval collection.
