Kit Rae Black Legion Axe KR0022B Review by Drizzt. Fantasy axe of the Ancient collection review.

The Swords of the Ancients series of weapons is considered to be one of the finest collections of fantasy-themed weapons by enthusiasts. Originally developed in 1997, this collection has turned out to be incredibly popular for Kit Rae.

Like the other weapons in this collection, the Black Legion Axe has a place in the rich mythos of Swords of the Ancients. This battle axe has been crafted while ensuring that it perfectly resembles its description in those stories.

Axe review by Drizzt

The overall length of the axe is 35 inches while the axe head is only 15 inches long. The 420 steel blades of the axe have been tempered to fortify it and improve its looks. The edges of the blade are false. Therefore, you should not hope to cut anything even though it is rather pointy.

The handle of the axe is made of solid metal parts. As for the grip, leather has been wrapped around it to make it easier to handle. The blades have also been made out of stainless steel and features deep etches that make it look more dangerous. Additionally, antique metal finish has been imparted to the axe which makes it appear more realistic.

The axe is highly detailed and comes with a black matte coat to ensure authenticity. A custom art print called The Barumen is also given out with each axe.

While the axe has been beautifully made, the fact remains that it is completely non-functional although a bit pointy. At the same time, you should avoid hitting anything with this axe as it is not sturdy enough to withstand blows. Nonetheless, it makes a fantastic showpiece.

If you are in search of an ornamental battle axe that looks like the real thing, the Black Legion Axe will certainly be a good choice. Apart from show, this does not have any other function.
