Heron Mark Sword Specs
Inspired from the fantasy genre of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series, the Heron Mark sword is a representation of the wonderful blade master craftsmanship. Speaking from the historical point of view, the swords were used to be awarded only to those having the highest possible skills.
The Heron Mark Sword weighs about 2.8lbs and has a blade length of 31.5″ and a hilt length of 10.5″. The point of balance of the sword is 5.0” from the base of the sword with a guard height of 2.0″.
The blade of the sword is made of very high carbon steel and is designed to have a sharp and razor-like cutting edge. There is a single heron that is etched on either side of the blade and is about 2″from the guard.

The grip of the sword is wrapped in some kind of material that’s suede-like but comparatively softer. The blue base material and the gold-colored wire wrap forms a perfect combination. The bottom of the pommel consists of a minimal design like the chrysanthemum emblem. The guard of the sword has a mushashi-style tsuba design that has got quillions coming out from the top.

The scabbard consists of a brass throat and chape while the rest of it is made of solid black leather. The overall length of the sword with the scabbard included is 42″.

It’s a well-made weapon that very much alike to the ones described in the books. However, even the Heron Mark sword has its own cons. The wire grip is not deeply recessed and can tend to become very comfortable for someone who is holding it.

It is also not an ideal weapon that can be used for some elementar cutting practice but you have to be very careful. Nevertheless, the Heron mark sword is an ideal fit for display purpose.
